Company History
More Than 70 Years of Precision Metal Grinding Solutions
Vincent C. Lonero started a one-man jig grinding service shop in 1949, where he was joined by his brother, Salvador D. Lonero (Tod). Shortly thereafter, in 1951, Lonero Engineering was established.
The two brothers ran their small metalworking operation out of a modest space on John R. Street in Detroit, Michigan. Before long, they had outgrown their first facility and relocated to their own building on Ten Mile Road in Hazel Park, Michigan.
Evolving into One of the Midwest’s Leading Machine Shops
By 1960, Lonero Engineering was recognized as the premier jig grinding service shop in the Midwest. The facility added eight Moore jig grinders and a range of additional metal grinding equipment. In addition to offering precision grinding services, Lonero continued to diversify by manufacturing special dies, gauges, and fixtures.
Outgrowing its facility once again, Lonero moved to its present location at 2050 Stephenson Highway in Troy, Michigan. Over the years, Lonero has expanded this facility and currently has more than 18,000 square feet of production space outfitted with cutting-edge CNC turning, milling, and grinding technology.
Today, Lonero is recognized as a world leader in the design and manufacturing of special deep rolling tooling used in automotive crankshaft manufacturing. Lonero Engineering currently has representative offices around the world and supplies all the major automotive engine manufacturers from its facility in Michigan.
